Havana Triathlon: From the Hemingway Marina to the Hotel Nacional de Cuba

Havana, February 25 (RHC) --The eighth edition of the Havana Triathlon took place this Sunday, starting at the Hemingway Marina and finishing at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, an event that was attended by around 300 competitors from 16 countries.

Among the Cubans taking part are the main Cuban figures, Leslie Amat and Alejandro Rodríguez, who are ranked 23rd and 58th in the Americas (RA), in that order.

Niuska Figueredo, Isabel Rodríguez, Jorge Emmanuel Alemañez and Marcos Fernández also stand out for Cuba.

Once again, they will compete in the Olympic modality, with 1,500 metres of swimming, 40 kilometres (km) of cycling and 10 km of running, and in the sprint modality, with 750 metres of swimming, 20 km of cycling and five km of running.

In addition to the Cuban teams, teams from Poland, Slovakia, Japan, Canada, Türkiye, Togo, Argentina, Ireland, Ukraine, the United States, Germany and Mexico will be in action, it was announced.

Among those registered by the visitors are the champion of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016, the American Gwen Jorgensen, and the Argentine Romina Biagioli, 16th place in the RA and participant in the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, after receiving a wild card.
