Havana, March 30 (PL) -- The Cuban team that will participate in the CONCACAF Futsal Championship in Managua, Nicaragua, starting next April 13, was flagged this Friday in Caracas, taking advantage of its stay in a training base.
The ceremony took place at the Cuartel de la Montaña, a famous military installation where the remains of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, an unconditional friend of the Antillean nation, rest.
The Cuban Ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodriguez Barrera, was present and expressed his pride and joy in accompanying the team to this historic site.
We urge you to play fair and give your all for your jersey and your flag", he asked the players. The president of the Cuban Football Association (AFC), Oliet Rodríguez, who was accompanied by Pedro José Infante, vice-president of the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), expressed his gratitude for the attentions provided by that entity during their preparation in those lands.
The Antillean team, which will go in search of one of the four places offered by the tournament for the World Championship of Uzbekistan 2024, has played against the best clubs of that country and against its national team, which has already qualified for the world championship.
