Havana, April 29 (JIT) .- Andy Hechavarría led the triple jump over the weekend in the third confrontation of the Cuban athletics team, while javelinist Marianailys Silva reached 61.08 meters, the best of her life .

Hechavarría nailed the spikes at 16.89 meters and continued to get closer to the minimum mark required (17.22 meters) to get a ticket for the Paris Olympic Games.

Cuba has two qualifiers for Paris in the men's triple, Lázaro Martínez and Cristian Nápoles, both world medalists.

At just 17 years old, Gian Baxter followed Andy with a personal best of 16.20m.

In javelin, Marianailys Silva threw 61.08 meters, far improving her best result and marking the return of a Cuban beyond the 60m barrier in home competitions after several years.

Silva had a best record of 55.12 since last year.

For the second consecutive week, ballista Juan Carley Vázquez maintained records over 19 meters, this time with 19.10.

In the long jump for women, the young Dainerys Haiti dominated with a personal record of 6.45 meters.

The closing of the presentations featured the 4x100 meter relays that will be in the World Relay Championships in the Bahamas on May 4 and 5.

The presumed starting lineup of Reinaldo Espinosa, Edel Amores, Yaniel Carrero and Shainer Reginfo stopped the clocks at 39.41 seconds, and more discreetly the quartet of Laura Moreira, Jocelyn Echazabal, Yarima García and Yunisleidys García presented themselves with a time of 44.54.
