Havana, May 27 (RHC).- Jorge Cuéllar won for the second time and Erislandy Álvarez had a triumphant debut, with which Cuba remained undefeated in the Pre-Olympic Boxing Tournament in Bangkok (Thailand).

Cuéllar (71 kg) defeated Frederick Kiwitt (Liberia) by no-show, while world runner-up Álvarez (63.5 kg) beat Noah Timoteo, from American Samoa, 5-0.

Both Cubans will return to the ring on Tuesday.

With its victories, Cuba raised its consecutive victories in Thailand to four. On the initial date, Cuéllar himself and the only Cuban woman in the fight, Yaquelín Stornell (66 kg), added victories.

The Thailand Pre-Olympic distributes the last Olympic boxing tickets for Paris.

Cuba already has four Olympic qualifiers: Alejandro Claro (51), Saidel Horta (57), Arlen López (80) and Julio César La Cruz (92), who were crowned champions on Sunday at the Playa Girón National Championship.

For La Cruz it was his 14th crown, to remain alone as the top winner of titles in Cuban boxing, after breaking the tie at 13 that he maintained with the now retired Félix Savón.
