Havana, May 28 (JIT).- New contributions from Jorge Cuéllar and Erislandy Álvarez raised Cuba's consecutive victories in the Bangkok 2024 Pre-Olympic Boxing Tournament to five.

Cuéllar (71 kg) won again due to his rival not showing up, as happened on Saturday. This time it was the Congolese Steve Kulenguluka who did not take the pitch and the boy from the Island added his third smile.

Álvarez (63.5 kg), last year's universal runner-up, accomplished the mission of passing over the Brazilian Clesisson Dos Santos, whom he defeated 5-0 to celebrate for the second time in the Thai capital.

The vote (29-28, 29-28, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27) expresses the dominance exercised, even though a couple of judges saw him lose the second round.

This Wednesday, the tanned Central Caribbean Yaquelín Estornell will seek to imitate him as the opposite of the Canadian Sara Kali, whose record includes 32 successes and 13 setbacks.

Cuba also registered the world's silver medalist Fernando Arzola (+92 kg), who will debut that same day against the Mexican Javier Cruz.
