Havana, June 17 (ACN)-- The Guantanamo Indians swept the Pirates of La Isla in the only game of the day and continued knocking hard on the entrance door to the postseason of the LXIII National Baseball Series.

The eastern tribe deployed a 10-man attack on the grass of the Latin American stadium to knock out their rivals 11-1, who suffered their twelfth consecutive defeat.

With this victory, the surprising disciples of Rubén Prevot have a balance of 37-35 and reached the Gallos from Sancti Spiritus in eighth place in the standings, although they lost the particular duel against them.

They stood out with the ball at the ready Over Luis Cremet 3-for-3 with six RBIs and a pair of homers (his numbers 15 and 16 of the campaign) and Yasmani Velázquez with a double and a solo homer.

Leonelkis Escalante also had a perfect morning going 3-for-3 with a RBI on his account.

Aurelio Delgado made a long relief of 5.1 innings with one run allowed and took credit for the challenge and Adrián Carballo suffered the setback in a start of just 1.1 innings where they scored six earned runs.

Starting next Tuesday, the Guantanamo team will play the last three games of their regular schedule at their Nguyen Van Troi headquarters against the Avispas de Santiago de Cuba, a team that has already secured its place in the next phase.
