Havana, June 18 (JIT) -- The president of INDER, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, received this Monday the 2024 World Academy Award, conferred by the World Council of Academics and University Researchers.
"Recognition for Cuban sport, above any personal merit," considered the manager, commenting on the event on social network X. "Gratitude and more commitment," he added.
The award, which highlights the "exercise of good social practices in favor of science and education", was also awarded to Professor Iván Román Suárez, Emeritus researcher at the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
The delivery ceremony was part of the activities held during the initial date of the III International Science and Education Congress, inaugurated at the Convention Palace by the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
The president, distinguished with a Recognition of Honor, thanked that gesture, highlighted the legacy of the Historical Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, and said that he received it as a tribute to the people in Cuba who believe in science as a pillar of government management.
As part of the event, this Wednesday the International Forum on Science, Physical Education and School Sports, 60 years of victories and love, will be held.
