Lausanne, Switzerland, June 28 (PL) - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said it has extended the list of participants under the neutral flag at the Paris 2024 Games to 22 Russians and 17 Belarusians.

On June 15, the IOC announced a first list limited to four disciplines (wrestling, weightlifting, cycling and trampoline) and now added representatives of tennis, shooting and rowing.

Likewise, the entity pointed out that it registered the first resignations of two Russians and five Belarusians, so that so far three cyclists, three specialists in gymnastics-trampoline, two weightlifters and 10 wrestlers have been confirmed, and two rowers and two shooters, all from Belarus, are still pending.

Russian tennis players Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, world number 5 and 6, as well as their compatriots Daria Kasatkina (14) and Liudmila Samsonova (15) and Belarusians Aryna Sabalenka (3) and Victoria Azarenka (16) have not confirmed.

The number of athletes from these nations is likely to increase because the International Watersports Federation recently allowed their reinstatement.
