Cuban basketball team

Havana, Jul 19 (JIT) - The Cuban national basketball team, which is participating in several events in China, began the third of them on the right foot after beating the United States 91-73 in the Nantong tournament.

The U.S. team had beaten the Cubans closely in the final of the Suzhou Tournament.

According to information from the Cuban Basketball Federation to JIT, the Caribbean players showed a fierce defense in the clash.

Dalia Henry, president of the Cuban Basketball Federation, highlighted the performances of Joan Gutierrez, Yoel Cubilla, Pedro Bombino and Neysser Coutin.

With the victory, Osmel Planas' students advanced to the final.

It will be the third consecutive final for the Cubans, as they already won the Hangzhou Tournament and were runners-up in the aforementioned Suzhou.
