33rd Olympic Games

Paris, July 26 (PL) - Just hours before the opening of the Paris-2024 Olympic Games, President Emmanuel Macron today issued a message of welcome to France, where 10,500 athletes and millions of visitors are expected.

On his account on the social network X, the president posted a video showing emblematic places of the City of Light, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the pyramid of the Louvre museum and the Trocadero square.

Tonight, after a ceremony on the Seine River and its patrimonial banks, whose details are kept secret, the head of state will declare inaugurated the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, which will culminate on August 11.

Also on social networks, Macron spread a call for unity through sport, which he considered a practice with no room for racism, discrimination and anti-Semitism.

There can be no hatred in sport, nor among athletes, those who train them and the public, he stressed.
