Havana, Sep 4 (ACN) Javelin thrower Guillermo Varona brought the third title for Cuba, winning the final of this specialty of the parathletics tournament of the 17th edition of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, held at the Stade de France.

According to the website of the Parisian multisport event, Guillemo won the golden metal in the javelin throw with 66.14 meters in his second attempt -out of six-, a crown that was added to the two obtained by the flag bearers Omara Durand and guide Junior Kindelán, in the 400 meters flat (T12), and Robiel Yankiel Sol, in the long jump (T47).

The silver and bronze medals in the javelin went to India's Ajeet Singh (65.62) and Gurjar Sundar (64.96), respectively.

Another good result in the Games was achieved by the table tennis player Yuniel Fernandez (MS1), who advanced to the semifinal against the Italian Federico Falco, after winning in the quarterfinals.
