Havana, Sept 21 (ACN) The sixth edition of the Caribbean Cup will be held in the Bahamas from October 23 to 28, said members of the organizing committee and the Bahamas Baseball Association (BBA) at a press conference.

Sponsored by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE), the tournament will feature teams representing Cuba, Dominican Republic, Curaçao, US Virgin Islands, Saint Maarten and the host country and the games will be played at the Andre Rodgers National Stadium.

The executive director of the organizing committee, Theodore Sweeting, highlighted the great support they have had from the participating countries and thanked the World Baseball and Softball Confederation for recognizing the Bahamas as the main baseball destination in the Caribbean.

He also acknowledged that he was very excited to have teams from Cuba and the Dominican Republic in the Cup, countries that have many followers in this sport.

BBA President Samuel Rodgers said he was confident about the success of the event and Minister of State for the Environment Zane Lightbourne said the government was delighted to support the regional competition.

In the last 2023 version, Cuba defeated Curaçao 3-1 in the final and broke an eight-year streak without winning a title in a baseball multi-selection event.

According to reports, COCABE announced that the 2025 Caribbean Cup will be a qualifier for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
