Blind Baseball

Havana, Sept 29 (JIT) - The Cuban baseball team for the blind defeated Italy 2x1 today and won the crown in the II World Cup 2024 of this modality, held in the United Kingdom.

The match was doubly attractive, because the Europeans were showing the title of the previous version, in addition to the fact that the game between the two, played in the group stage at Farnham Park, had closed with a 6x6 tie.

This duel for the title was tied 1x1 in the fourth chapter, in which Cuba scored the winning run by getting two consecutive hits, in addition to a connection by Maikel Barroso.

The final balance of the team led by Roberto Carmona showed a tie with Italy and three victories, against the Netherlands (8x1), the People's Republic of China (8x0) and the host British team (5x0).

Undoubtedly, an excellent performance for the Antillean team, debutant in this tournament.
