FIFA Futsal World Cup

Tashkent, Oct 2 (PL) Brazil and Ukraine will play today the first semifinal of the Uzbekistan 2024 Futsal World Cup at the Humo Arena.

The South Americans go into the match undefeated in five games, with three wins in the group stage (10-0 against the Cubans, 8-1 against the Croatians and 9-1 against the Thais), one in the round of 16 against the Costa Ricans (5-0) and another in the quarterfinals against the Moroccans (3-1).

The Europeans, on the other hand, won twice in the first round, 7-2 against the Angolans and 4-1 against the Afghans, and lost once, 7-1 to the Argentinians, to finish second behind the Argentinians.

In the round of 16, the Ukrainians beat the Dutch 3-1 and then beat the Venezuelans 9-4.

The Auriverdes won the 1989, 1992, 1996, 2008, and 2012 World Cups, while the Europeans' best result was fourth place in 1996.

Tomorrow, Argentina and France will play the other semifinal of a tournament in which 24 countries participated.
