Havana, Oct 7 (RHC) - Two victories, one against Lithuania and the other against South Africa, were achieved by the Cuban baseball5 team on the opening day of the II World Cup of this sport, which is being played by 12 teams in Hong Kong.

In the first game, the Cubans overcame Lithuania with scores of 18x2 - Ko in four innings - and 11x2, in a group A match, in which Orlando Amador (14-12) and Briandy Molina (15-11) stood out.

According to colleague Rodolfo Durán, in the second game, the Cubans defeated the South African team with scores of 10x0- KO in four innings- and 9x1.

Once again, Amador, 8-6 in the two sets, and Molina, 10-8, shined on offense.

This time the victory over South Africa was much more comfortable than two years ago in Mexico, when the Cuban champions fell in one of the matches with a close score of 2-0.

On Tuesday, the Cubans will have another double game, against the local Hong Kong and Venezuela.
