Giselle Franco in international contest hosted by the Cuban capital

Havana, Oct 16 (JIT) - Cuba will be represented by a small delegation at the Basse Terre 2024 Fencing Championships, to be held in the capital of the island of Guadalupe, from the 25th to the 27th.

Two fencers and four foil fencers make up the squad that will compete in the event, the president of the Cuban federation of this sport, Alhjadis Bandera, told JIT.

In the first of these weapons will be Giselle Franco and Danilo Ferrer, while completing the list are the foil fencers Carlos Rivero, Haidel Cisneros, Yunaisis Montero, and Aráis Cordero.

Of all of them, Giselle is the one with more history with the steel in her hands, as she has represented Cuba in several international competitions, including World Cups.

Precisely in Guadeloupe she won the silver medal in the individual competition and bronze in the team competition in one of her last visits to that nation.
