Ulsan, South Korea, Oct. 25 (JIT) - A solid start by left-hander Yoennis Yera and three hits by Rafael Viñales and Roberto Baldoquín, colored the first victory of the Cuba team that is preparing in South Korea for the Premier 12 baseball tournament.

In its second outing in the city of Ulsan, the Antillean team defeated 7x2 the Jiangsu Huge Horses club, reigning champion of the Chinese Baseball Association, two days after losing 1x13 to the NC Dinos, of the Korean circuit.

Yera did not allow any runs during three innings in which he struck out five and allowed two hits.

Also pitching for Cuba were Yankiel Mauri, Andy Vargas, Frank Herrera, and Frank Abel Álvarez.

The best hitters for Cuba were Viñales (4-3, 3 RBI), Baldoquín (4-2, 3 RBI), Jean Harvi Walters (3-2, a double), and Erisbel Arruebarruena (3-2, 1 RBI).

This Saturday, as part of the Ulsan-KBO 2024 Autumn League, the Cuban team will face LG Twins, last year's Korean professional champion, which it could not face on Tuesday due to rain. Dario Sarduy will be the starting pitcher.
