Havana, October 31 (JIT) - Five Cubans will be present at the Far East Weightlifting Cup, which will take place from November 29 to December 3 in Russia.
The Antillean delegation is made up of Marifélix Sarría (+87 kg) and Olfides Sáez (89) from Cienfuegos, Yeniuska Mirabal (71) and Ariolvis Begué (89) from Guantanamo, and Arley Calderón (61) from Pinar del Río.
For this event will travel as coaches Lazaro Rivera and Camilo Reinaldo Ramirez, and physiotherapist Hector Joaquin Rodriguez and referees Yunel Caballero Rosello, and Delmis Rodriguez Pargas, will complete the delegation.
Leading the group will be the president of the Cuban Weightlifting Federation and national commissioner Jorge Luis Barcelán Santa Cruz, according to the national methodologist Caballero Roselló.
After fulfilling this competitive commitment in Russian territory, two of the Cuban weightlifters, the recently crowned world youth champion Marifélix Sarría and the Pan American title holder of Santiago 2023 Arley Calderón, will travel to Baréin, venue of the universal senior competition.
They will be accompanied by Yoani Giniebra, coach of the Cuban women's team and Camilo Reinaldo Ramirez, coach of the men's team.
The tournament, to be held in Manama, capital of the small Asian island state located on the west coast of the Persian Gulf, is scheduled from December 5 to 15.
