Skating Marathon

Havana, Nov 5 (JIT) - The 6th edition of the Havana Skate Marathon and the third stop of the World Skate Marathon Tour, scheduled to be held in Havana between November 8 and 10, has been postponed.

The reason for the decision is the meteorological phenomenon that will hit the western part of the country in the coming days.

Following the decision of the Civil Defense General Staff to decree the Alert phase for the provinces of Matanzas, Mayabeque, Havana, Artemisa, Pinar del Río, and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, the organizing committee of the competition proposed to postpone the event.

This is due to the fact that the abundant rainfall and penetrations of the sea that are expected will have a direct impact on the circuit chosen for the competitions.

The International Skating Federation (World Skate) has been informed of the situation and is awaiting its pronouncement in case it considers postponing the third and last stop of the World Tour to another country, so as not to affect the competition calendar.
