Havana, Nov 17 (ACN) Cuba's Paris 2024 Olympic champion Erislandy Alvarez overcame Kazakhstan's Adilet Kurmetov in the quarterfinals of the 63.5 kilograms of the International Boxing Association Professional World Cup, based in Beijing.

In the capital of China, Alvarez made his debut this Saturday with a unanimous victory in the first day of the event, in a bout in which he showed total superiority in the six rounds of the fight.

Reports from the venue highlight that the also world subtitle of the largest of the Antilles managed to throw to the canvas of the ring in the third round with forceful blows that closed with a strong right hand to Kurmetov's face.

That victory keeps the Caribbean fighter undefeated in his four professional fights and continues his way to the semifinal phase, where he will have to wait for his next opponent, with date and venue yet to be defined.
