Japan remains undefeated

Chinese Taipei, Nov 18 (PL) Today, Japan defeated the Dominican Republic 11-3 in group B and remained undefeated in the Premier 12 baseball tournament, with a guaranteed ticket to the Super Round of finalists.

The Japanese team defined the duel in the fifth inning with a three-run rally, and then finally sentenced the game in the ninth inning with a five-run rally.

Shogo Sakakura, Kotaro Kurebayashi, Toshiva Sato, and Ryota Isobata had two runs apiece, while Shota Morishita batted 3-3, with three runs scored.

Haruto Inoue was credited with the win, while Héctor Pérez took the loss.

Thus, Japan reached the Super Round with a perfect 5-0 record, and the Dominican Republic went home with a 1-4 record.

The country of the Rising Sun had victories over Australia (3-0), South Korea (6-3), Chinese Taipei (3-1), Cuba (7-6), and the Dominican Republic (8-3).

In the Super Round, they will face Venezuela, the United States, and Chinese Taipei.
