Havana, Nov 25 (PL) - The men's basketball teams of Cuba and Puerto Rico will face each other this Monday in Havana in the closing of the qualifying window for the 2025 Americas Cup.
It will be the first bilateral duel this year between both teams, traditional rivals in the Caribbean area.
The outcome of the match, scheduled for Havana's Sports City Colliseum, could be key in the fight for one of the two tickets to the Americup 2025.
The match also represents the farewell of the Cuban national team to its fans, as the remaining matches will be played as away games in February next year in Bahamas and Puerto Rico.
Osmel Planas' team is tied for first place in Group D with the United States, both with a record of two wins and one loss, while the Bahamas and Puerto Rico are 1-2.
The Cubans have just beaten the Bahamians 76 points to 62, while the Puerto Ricans lost to the Americans 66-108.
