Paris, Dec 21 (PL) Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), with the legendary Teddy Riner on its roster, won the Judo Champions League crown today by defeating Serbian club Red Star Belgrade in the final.

In the French city of Montpellier, the Parisians swept their rivals 4-0 in the decisive mixed team duel, a victory that included the only outing on the mat of the stellar Riner in over 100 kilograms, winner of the title against Andy Granda of Cuba, in a battle defined by hansoku make (warnings) after eight minutes of combat.

For the giant native of Guadeloupe, the medal ended a spectacular year, in which he won two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, to reach five gold medals under the five rings, in addition to his 11 in world championships.

PSG's other victories over Red Star came from French Olympic gold medalist Romane Dicko (over 70 kilograms), fellow French Olympic gold medalist Faiza Mokdar (57) and Japan's Tatsuki Ishihara (73).
