MARABANA 2025

Havana, Jan 16 (JIT) - International registration for Marabana 2025 began and thus “kicked off” the 39th edition of Cuba's main running race, scheduled for November 16.

Carlos Gattorno, director of the National Commission of Marabana-Maracuba Races and Walks, gave the good news to JIT, after the first registrations.

“We expect a good presence of foreign runners, especially from America and Europe,” the executive said.

He also expanded on how the participation of local walkers will be: “The Cubans who finished Marabana 2024 are already qualified for our November party in honor of the Physical Culture and Sports Day,” he reaffirmed.

The first race of this year, which will be present in the call for the penultimate month of the year will be the half marathon Cacahual-Ciudad Deportiva, on February 23 for the anniversary of Inder.

This will be followed by the Day for Mandela, in July, and the Olympic Ideal, in August, both as part of the program of races and walks that take place annually on the island.

The director ratified that Marabana maintains the same circuit as last year, with a start and finish line in front of the Ramón Fonst Multipurpose Hall, located in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality.
