Havana, January 24 (RHC).- With two friendly matches, the preparation of the Cuban soccer team that will participate in the Concacaf 2025 U-17 Women's Tournament, a qualifier for the World Cup in this category, ends.

The team led by Silvio Pedro Miñoso arrived on Tuesday afternoon in the Dominican Republic, host of Group C of the competition in which they were placed together with Panama, Guyana and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The arrival a week in advance has the objective of holding two friendly matches with the home team that will be played this Wednesday and Friday.

In addition to the weeks of concentration in Havana, the team had the opportunity to participate in the recently held Uncaf Fifa Forward U-16 Women's Tournament in Managua 2024.

This served the coaching staff to evaluate details and also as a competitive experience for the young players.

Three days after the last friendly against the Dominicans, the debut in the pre-World Cup is expected, against the Guyanese team.

On the 29th they will face the Turks and Caicos Islands, a match in which, together with the previous one, they must obtain the three points, to reach the last date with the possibility of advancing to the next round.

The crucial match will be on the 31st, against Panama, in what could define the advancement of one or both, since all the group winners will reach the second phase, and there will also be room for the two best second places.
