Havana, Feb 9 (PL) Two Cubans will participate in a professional boxing card scheduled for the 28th in the Russian city of Yoshkar-Ola, official sources informed today.

The president of the Cuban Boxing Federation, Alberto Puig, told Jit digital newspaper that two-time Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias (71 kilograms) and Jorge Soto (80 kg) will be in the boxing ring that day, against opponents to be confirmed.

Puig added that the gold medalist under the five rings in London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 will have another such incursion on March 7, also in Russia.

According to the executive, the presentation of Olympic champion Erislandy Álvarez (63.5 kg) in the International Boxing Association (IBA) Professional World Cup should be in April.

This fight corresponding to the semifinal stage against Tajikistan's Bakhodur Usmonov was announced for January in Beijing but was rescheduled at the same venue.

Puig also said that world silver medalist Saidel Horta (57 kg) could later compete in a World Cup called for Saudi Arabia by the World Boxing Council.
