Barcelona vs Sevilla

Madrid, Feb 10 (PL): Barcelona thrashed Sevilla 4-1 to close the gap on Spanish soccer league leaders Real Madrid.

Poland's Robert Lewandowski opened the account in the seventh minute for the Catalans, but a minute later Rubén Vargas equalized, before Fermín López (46th), Brazilian Rafinha (55th), and Eric García (89th) put the game to bed.

At the bottom of the table, Valencia beat Leganés 2-0 and Getafe made up ground by beating Deportivo Alavés 1-0.

In the other match on Sunday, Real Sociedad beat Espanyol 2-1.

The day's closing match between Mallorca and Osasuna will be played tomorrow.
