Havana, Feb 10 (JIT) - Cuban Anisleidis Ochoa won the 10 km race in Cartago, Costa Rica, with a national record, and for the Clásica Candelaria International 2025.
In a 10-kilometer course certified by World Athletics, Cuban Ochoa clocked 33:48 minutes and made a successful debut in this type of event.
The Cuban was ahead of Costa Rica's Diana Bogantes (34:24) and Puerto Rico's Paola Alejandra Figueroa (34:55).
Meanwhile, at the Pan American Stadium in Havana, hammer thrower Ronald Mencía threw 76.91m, in the first confrontation of Cuban athletics.
Mencia improved by almost 30 centimeters his personal best, achieved in 2023.
It was also a good day for the juvenile triple jumper Gian Carlos Baxter, who achieved a lifetime best (16.38).
In the 100-meter hurdles, Greysi Robles dominated with a time of 13.02 seconds, and Silinda Morales took the discus to 61.63.
As for the incursions in the European indoor rallies, the Cubans did not stand out.
