Havana, Feb 21 (RHC) - With the presence of the main figures in each division, the Junior Judo Challengers Tournament was convened for this Friday, one more step on the road to the Pan American event of the category next summer.
The lineup includes matches in each of the divisions in both sexes and will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Esfaar Cerro Pelado, in Havana, headquarters of the national judo pre-selections.
Among the girls, the 48 kg contest between Yunaisis Roque Febles, winner of the Varadero 2024 Pan American Judo Cup, and Yainet Coronado will attract attention.
Another bout that will attract attention will feature Aslín Alpajón and Deyanara Curbelo, who have already started a strong rivalry in the +78 kg division, and who each have a victory in the different tournaments of the Varadero Judo Carnival.
The men will begin with the duel between Yoel Hernandez and Radennis Romero (60 kg), and then Adel Assiel Fresneda will fight Mauricio de Armas (66).
One of the most awaited fights will be the one between Cristhian Cordero from Pinar del Río and Jon Bon Kuan Fleitas from Artemisa, whose most recent precedent is the victory of Cristhian Cordero in the bronze medal in the 73 kg of the Pan American Open in Varadero.
The event closes the bout between Yonathan Delgado and Julio Tulio Hernandez (+100).
