Rifle and Pistol Championship

Havana, Feb 23 (JIT) - A few days before the start of the 1st Americas Junior Rifle and Pistol Championship Asuncion 2025, in Paraguay, the organizing committee revealed details of its schedule. 

The competition will open on February 27 with some 70 contestants from all over the continent and will last until March 6.

Those responsible for the event have prepared an agenda whose initial competitions will be held in the 25-meter women's pistol and 10-meter air rifle for men and women.

The first finals will be held on Tuesday, March 1st in the men's air rifle, women's pistol, and women's air rifle, in that order.

One day later, the medals in the 10-meter rifle in the mixed category will be discussed.

The contestants in the combined air pistol event at this same distance and the men's 25-meter rapid-fire pistol will fight for their medals.

The competition, a qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games, will be held at the same venue from August 9 to 23. It will award 17 tickets for each of the individual rifle and pistol events, for a total of 68. 

The first international youth shooting event of the year will be held at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee's Park Shooting Complex.

Cuba will attend with a team of 12 athletes and two coaches.

This tournament will be followed by the shotgun qualifier, to be held in Bridgetown, Barbados, from March 7 to 17, also with Cuban presence.
