Havana, Mar 18 (JIT) - The six teams that will compete in the final of the 6th National Youth Baseball5 2025 Tournament, to be held in Ciego de Avila from the 24th to the 30th of this month, are already known.

Havana, the reigning champion with a record of four wins and no losses, and Artemisa (3-1) won their tickets in the playoffs in the western region, while Ciego de Avila (4-0) and Sancti Spiritus (3-1) advanced in the central region.

In the eastern region, Santiago de Cuba (6-0) and Guantánamo (4-2) were prosperous. In this group, the four teams present competed in two rounds due to the absence of Las Tunas.

Of the six finalist teams, Ciego de Avila is the only one that had never reached this stage.

Eros Bernal, head coach of Baseball5 in Cuba, commented to JIT that in these zones it was possible to appreciate the quality of talented young players, who will demonstrate in the final their real possibilities to integrate the national pre-selection for the critical route of the year.

The eight kids with the best technical-tactical arsenal (four boys and an equal number of girls) will participate in the Pan American Tournament -date and place to be defined-, which will be a qualifier for the II World Championship in Mexico 2025.

Cuba holds the Ankara 2023 scepter, and if it wins first place in the Pan-American competition, the team will also advance directly to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which will be attended by eight teams.
