More than 350 skaters will compete in Cuba in Skate Marathon

IV Varadero Skate Marathon

Cuba, Mar 25 (PL) More than 350 skaters will compete in the IV Varadero Skate Marathon to be held in the Cuban resort city on March 28 and 29.

According to the general director of the event, Yenisey Estévez, 360 skaters from all over the country are registered to date, which shows a substantial growth in the number of participants with respect to the previous year.

In the next Skate Marathon there will be competitions in speed, inline skating, and skatecross and in the categories of children (9-10, 11-12, 13-15 years old), elite (16-29) and master, reserved for those over 30 years old, she said.

Estévez said that as in previous editions, there will be long distance races, set at 10 kilometers (km), with popular character and presence of children of small ages and those of 20 and 40 km for the elite and master groups.

The director added that in the master category will be present even skaters over 70 years, a fact that reaffirms the premise of bringing the tournament to all ages.

The IV Varadero Skate Marathon will have the particularity of serving as preparation for the national youth pre-selection of the sport that will participate in the Junior Pan American Games of Asuncion 2025.
