Havana, Mar 30 (JIT) - Cuban handball players will seek a ticket to the Asuncion 2025 Pan American Junior Games in Mexico.

They will do so in the qualifying tournament that will take place from March 31 to April 4, with the participation of the United States, Canada, and the Dominican Republic, in addition to Cuba and the host country.

The event will be played in a round-robin format and will give direct berths to the top three teams. The fourth-place team will qualify for a playoff with a team from the Confederation of South and Central American Handball.

The Cuban team's debut will take place on the 31st against Canada and the following day they will face the United States.

On the third day of competition, April 2, they will play against Mexico, and close their performance on April 3 against the Dominican Republic.

"Our goal is to qualify for the Junior Pan American Games, we have a talented team that can give us the joy of achieving it," Franklin Guevara, president of the federation of that sport, told JIT.

He also thanked Inder and the Cuban Olympic Committee for the extraordinary efforts made to participate in this event and others scheduled in the calendar.
