Cubans to take part in Panamerican Junior Judo Cup

Havana, Apr 1 (RHC) - Cuban judo fighters will take part in the Panama 2025 Junior Pan American Judo Cup, which will begin in the capital of that country next Sunday.

The competition will award points for the qualifying ranking for the Junior Pan American Games of Asuncion 2025, and that will be the main objective of the teams of the island that will travel soon to the venue.

The women's squad, led by coaches Felix Portuondo and Jondrette Diaz, will be composed of Yainet Coronado (42 kg), Yunaisy Roque (42 kg), Dami Semanat (48 kg), Wendy Martinez (63 kg), Ysmelys Sanchez (70 kg), Lisrialis Gonzalez (78 kg) and Deyanara Curbelo (+78 kg).

Among the men, Yoel Hernández (60 kg), Adel Fresneda (66 kg), Mauricio de Armas (66 kg), Cristhian Cordero (73 kg), Jon Bon Kuan Fleitas (73 kg), Alexander César (81 kg), Naysdel Cardoso (90 kg), Zail Ramírez (100 kg) and Jonathan Delgado (+100 kg).

The latter will be guided by Rafael Rubio and world champion and Olympic medalist Yurisleidis Lupetey.

After the Panamanian commitment, they will participate from April 18 to 20 in the Lima 2025 Pan American and Oceania Junior Judo Championship, which awards 500 points to the winner of each division.

One day after competing in Panama, the team will move to Peru, where they will have a training base to face the most important competition before the Junior Pan American Championships.
