Havana, Jun 23 (RHC) - Today, Cuba received a place in the compound modality and will be in the archery of the Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion with four representatives.

Since last March, the boys from the island had secured a pair of places in recurve with Luis Javier Sanchez and Elaimis Garcia, in addition to Rosalicia Dominguez among the women in compound.

Now Yanior Tabares has been added thanks to an invitation from Panam Sports, according to news offered by the president of the Cuban Archery Federation, Tamara Jimenez.

The direct invitation to Yanior responds to his good performance in the qualifying competition in Argentina, because although he could not get the place, he showed progress in a specialty reinstated to the practice in Cuba after several years of absence.

During the event held in Buenos Aires, the dispute in the final between Rosalicia and her teammate Leydi Laura Arias stood out, won by the former with a score of 135-133 points.

Earlier, Rosalicia had set an absolute national record of 681 points in the 50-meter double sprint.
