Havana, January 21 (RHC) Cuba participated in Tourissima Lille 2020 –an exhibition dedicated to tourism, held January 17th through the 19th at the Grand Palais Lille.
According to the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Caribbean state was represented there by a delegation headed by Rosa Adela Mejías, Tourism Attaché of the country’s embassy in Paris, France. It included also professionals with Havanatour tour operator, who briefed participants on Cuba’s offers as a tourism destination, particularly circuit, culture and nature tourism.
Tourissima in Lille 2020 brought together a wide range of tourism stakeholders, who provided useful information about the latest trends, presented very attractive special budget accommodation offers, ideas for short stays, wellness, spas, cruises, holidays in the countryside and the sea, all the desires of culture and museums.
The Cuban delegation took the opportunity to invite participants in the French exhibition to Cuba’s XXXX International Tourism Fair FitCuba 2020, set for May 4th through the 9th in the world famous Varadero beach resort with Russia as guest country of honor. It will be dedicated to sun and sand tourism.
Cuba and France seek to consolidate bilateral links in the tourism sector. To that aim, a Cuban delegation participated last October in the IFTM Top Resa 2019 -- one of the leading travel and tourism trade shows in France.
The European country has further consolidated as one of the top five markets of tourists to the Caribbean state. In 2019, Cuba welcomed more than 150 thousand French visitors.
