Havana, March 22 (RHC-Sputnik) — Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday accused the United States of putting pressure on foreign governments into supporting U.S. meddling in Venezuela's affairs.
Addressing a meeting of the country's Council of Ministers at Miraflores Presidential Palace, Maduro said: "The [US] State Department has mobilized all of its ambassadors around the world, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, to put pressure on governments into supporting political and diplomatic interference in Venezuela."
Maduro further denounced that Venezuelan right-wing political parties and leaders are receiving funds from a group of Miami-based tycoons to promote a U.S. intervention in the South American country. The Bolivarian leader said the aim is to turn Venezuela into a sort of colony ruled by U.S. tycoons.
President Maduro instructed Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez to step up the international campaign to continue denouncing the daily maneuvers orchestrated against Venezuela. He also called on his people to stay alert and mobilize, and announced a mass rally next Sunday, March 26th, in defense of the homeland and national sovereignty.
