Washington, February 6 (RHC)-- U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency Director Michael Flynn claims the National Security Agency data leaked by former contractor Edward Snowden would lead to the deaths of American troops.
Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said the leaks have affected all four military services, prompting a review of the military's activities all around the world. The U.S. Army officer made the remarks during a hearing at the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill.
The U.S. whistleblower, who leaked NSA’s surveillance programs, has been in Russia since August on temporary asylum. The U.S. general also claimed that Snowden might now be "under the influence" of the Russian government.
Snowden, who is charged with espionage charges inside the United States, said he would have no chance to get a fair trial in case he decides to return to the United States. In a recent interview, Ed Snowden said: "Returning to the U.S., I think, is the best resolution for the government, the public, and myself, but it's unfortunately not possible in the face of current whistleblower protection laws, which, through a failure in law, did not cover national security contractors like myself."
