Caracas, February 17 (RHC)-- Private and international media manipulated information about the violents actions of the right-wing with a view to destabilize the country.

The vice president of Televisora Venezolana Social, TVES, Roberto Messuti, questioned the media using of the recent events. In a statement to Venezolana de Television, he said that the situation has been shown as a civil war, where people took the streets in favor of overthrowing of a constitutionally-elected government.

To face this, he urged journalists to act honestly with journalistic ethics, to give credibility to the facts.

Messuti highlighted that people still have the Bolivarian Comunications and Information System (Sistema Bolivariano de Comunicación e Información, SiBCI), through which they can get the truth about what is happening in the country.

He further explained that the right-wing sectors are trying to destabilize the country to create an internal chaos that allows for a foreign intervention.
