Caracas, February 24 (RHC) –- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stated that Venezuela is a sovereign country that rejects any interference, in responding to the increasing intervention of external forces in his country's internal affairs.

The Venezuelan leader urged friends of the Revolution to confront media manipulation and tell the truth about the events, and recalled that only Venezuela's guests can enter the country. He also warned that the interference of right-wing groups will affect the economy.

The head of state responded to a suggestion of the secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS), Jose Miguel Insulza, about the participation of external factors to ease the crisis in Venezuela.

Maduro thanked Argentinian soccer player Diego Armando Maradona, who sent a message for peace in the face of the right-wing's coup attempt.

He also said that on March 5th, on the first anniversary of Hugo Chavez's passing, many presidents are expected to attend a tribute in Caracas, as well as prime ministers, foreign secretaries, and social and political leaders from Latin America and the world.
