Salvador de Bahia, March 14 (RHC)-- Thousands of people took to the streets of Salvador, Brazil in the name of democracy as the 13th edition of the World Social Forum on Tuesday.
They marched to the slogan: “Resist is to create. Resist is to transform!” and other mottos representing the diverse groups united for the public demonstration.
This year's World Social Forum will debate and define new alternatives and strategies to confront neo-liberal free-market policies, anti-democratic coups and genocide.
The conference began on Tuesday, March 13th and runs until Saturday, March 17th.
