Emmerson Mnangagwa (left) expressed his commitment to respect and abide by the Constitution and laws of Zimbabwe.

Harare, August 26 (RHC) Emmerson Mnangagwa was sworn Sunday as the President of Zimbabwe in a ceremony at the National Stadium in the Zimbabwean capital.

In his inaugural speech, the new dignitary called on all his fellow citizens to participate in the economic development efforts and promised better services, more jobs and the construction of a prosperous future for all.

He thanked the Zimbabwean people for the hospitality extended to the foreign observers who followed the electoral process that ended with the July 30 vote and also for believing he can be the leader of the nation.

Zimbabwean Chief Justice , Luke Malaba, swore in Mnangagwa as the new head of State and Government. The new president expressed his commitment to respect and abide by the Constitution and laws of that southern African country, and protect its population.
