Quito, September 7 (RHC)-- Former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa reacted to the announcement by the national government of possible sanctions against him for mismanagement, during his tenure, of the case against the US oil company Chevron-Texaco.
'Attacking the previous government, instead of reminding the world how Chevron destroyed the Amazon, leaves no doubt that these traitors have already agreed with the transnational.
Everyone to get angry! ‘, Correa wrote in his Twitter account and described the action by the executive of treason against the fatherland, reports Prensa Latina news agency.
And he added: 'You have to be naive to believe that the statements about Chevron, against Assange, American planes, and so forth, all after Pence's visit, are' coincidences'.
Correa called on people to stay alert and reiterated the call for a national mobilization next Thursday to reject the government led by Lenin Moreno.
The Government says the Correa Administration interfered in the case against the Oil company because it used 10 million dollars in the national and international communication campaign 'The dirty hand of Chevron', in which international personalities participated as US actor, Danny Glover were paid to participate.
The Ecuadorian government says the country could be subject to sanctions because of the handling of the case.
Chevron was ordered to pay by a US Court 9.5 billion dollars to the Amazonian peoples, following a process considered successful by Ecuador and that in the opinion of the transnational was the result of a plot.
