Madrid, Apr 19 (PL - RHC) , -- Spanish public figures from various sectors have signed an international manifesto in defense of the government of Venezuela, in light of the opposition´s violent actions against the administration of President Nicolas Maduro.
The document states that the violence used against the Venezuelan government is taking place at a time when the international offensive against President Maduro, whom they are trying to overthrow with a coordinated coup-like operation, has escalated.
We reject any interference by any foreign government, including the United States, which is regaining the most classical hegemonic profile regarding Latin America.
Writer Aitana Alberti Leon; former Judge Baltasar Garzon, journalist Pascual Serrano, actor and producer Willy Toledo, singer songwriter Lucia Socam, and actor and writer Shangay Lily are among the Spanish signatories.
