Washington, February 16 (RHC)-- The presidential candidate for the 'Creemos' party, Fernando Camacho, who led the coup d'etat in Bolivia last November, traveled to the United States with former Telecommunications Company, Entel, manager Elio Montes -- accused of corruption.

Entel's former manager is the center of a scandal in which he is accused of embezzling millions of bolivians (national currency) from the company’s budget to finance illegal operations just over 80 days after being appointed to the position by the de-facto government led by Jeanine Añez.

"Through the Migration Analysis Unit we have monitored the migration flow and we have verified that Mr. Luis Fernando Camacho was on the same flight as Mr. Elio Montes," Marcel Rivas, Bolivian Director of Migration said.

According to the deputy of the Democratic Unity party, Tomas Monasterios, Montes came to Entel's office on the suggestion of Camacho, who at that time was the president of the Santa Cruz Civic Committee, a key group to understand the coup and forced resignation of the former president Evo Morales.  Camacho’s vice presidential candidate, Marco Pumari, would have gone to the same destination the day before.

The visit of Camacho to the United States, with the elections just around the corner, reopens the revelations that the blog 'Behind Back Doors' published before the coup carried out on November 10, 2019: a set plan between opposition leaders and Bolivian military was confirmed to destabilize and consummate the coup.

According to this plan, unveiled in 16 audios, if Morales won the elections, they would construct the idea that the victory was a fraud and a civic-military transitional government would be installed, one that would not recognize his victory, which is what finally ended up happening in the country.

Among other elements, the leaked audios revealed the U.S. interference, the use of some accredited embassies and the Evangelical church in the country to enter the resources that served as the engine to execute the operation.

But they also revealed links between some U.S. senators such as Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Bob Menendez with the Bolivia’s opposition to carry out the coup.

Meanwhile, numerous observers are warning about the possible manipulation of the May 3rd elections, in favor of the coup plotters given that organizations such as the OAS and USAID, complicit in the coup, have been very close to the current de-facto government.
