Quito, April 4 (RHC)-- In Ecuador, residents of Guayaquil say that the stench of death fills the air as bodies pile up on the streets and sidewalks of the country's second largest city.
Funeral homes and cemetaries are privately owned in Ecuador and the government refuses to respond to families who call for them to pick up their dead.
According to reports from Quito, Ecuador is preparing to create a "camp for the dead" as it struggles with one of the worst COVID-19 outbreaks in Latin America.
More than 3,000 people are reported to have been infected, and 145 people have died. Hospitals and morgues are at a breaking point in the capital, Quito.
