Albuquerque, May 17 (RHC)-- In the U.S. state of New Mexico, new data show half of those who have died of COVID-19 are Native American even though they only make up about 11% of the state’s population.  This comes as nearly 60% of people testing positive for the coronavirus in New Mexico are also Indigenous.

In other news, in New Orleans, sanitation workers are entering their second week of strike, demanding better working conditions, daily personal protective equipment such as gloves and face masks, raising wages from $10 to $15 per hour, and providing a weekly hazard pay of $150.
