Miami, June 26 (RHC)-- The U.S. state of Florida reported more than 5,500 cases, breaking its record for daily new infections. "What we're seeing in Florida is really rapid transmission in that 18-to-34 age group," Governor Ron DeSantis told a press conference.
"I understand people want to be out, they want to be social, we've obviously seen more of that as we've gone on," he said.
DeSantis has refused to require people to wear masks, though the state's health department advises citizens to do so. Florida's overall confirmed cases stand now at 109,014.
