Caracas, July 28 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro celebrated Tuesday the 66th anniversary of the birth of Commander Hugo Chavez, whom he called an "immortal giant" and "eternal leader."
"Happy Birthday Commander Chavez! You are and will always be an immortal giant, the eternal leader of the Bolivarian Revolution and the inspiration for the Venezuelan people's struggle," said the South American country's leader in a message published on his Twitter account.
"Our homage today #28Jul, 66 years after your birth, Chavez Vive, la Patria Sigue! #66AñosChávezInvicto," said President Maduro, who accompanied his tweet with a voice message.
"How much love Chavez sowed in our people," he continued. "what a great legacy. We always remember him, but a day like today, a dawn like today, it is special to remember him."
The Venezuelan head of state mentioned a poem by Gustavo Pereira that Chávez recited and that says: "In the exercise of love nothing ends/everything begins again."
"Love was what we received from him, and love is what we will always give to him, to his memory, to his legacy, converted into loyalty, work, discipline, renewed hope, patriotism and permanent struggle," he emphasized.
