La Paz, May 29 (PL-RHC) -- A "Women's Summit" will be held prior to the meeting of the Group of 77 plus China (G-77) in Bolivia to show the transformation of society to favor Bolivian women.

The G-77 Summit, which will be held June 14th and 15th in the eastern city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, will also be a great opportunity to show the world Bolivia's achievements benefiting women.

According to Marianela Paco, parliamentarian from the Movement toward Socialism (MAS), the women's summit that will run for two days with the presence of 3,000 delegates from some 20 countries, will show the policies implemented in Bolivia to benefit a sector that had been marginalized.

Paco highlighted the role played by President Evo Morales in seeking equality, pointing out that "without the awareness of equality that our president has, women in Bolivia today could scarcely have advanced and won such significant spaces in the Parliament and the Government".

She said that Bolivian women have developed "over the last eight years, skills, abilities and experiences because they have been given the proper spaces and have undergone a transformational process of self-identification, to build a philosophy of life."
